Sailboat

The Marine Trades Certificate Program has been developed in collaboration with partners in the Maine boat building industry.  In this partnership, we have designed the program to grow and develop the work force for Maine boat builders.  It offers cost effective, quick turnaround training opportunities to motivated workers who are new to, or would like to explore new opportunities in the Maine boat building industry.  Students will advance through a series of training modules, each designed to teach introductory levels of knowledge and hands on experience in various boat building trades, as well work ethic, team-building skills and how to work efficiently and safely in the marine environment.

Upon successful completion of all modules in the MTC Program, students will have opportunities for advanced training.  Employers have an opportunity to see measured results.  Students will earn a Marine Trades Certificate that they may present to employers and prospective employers as evidence of their efforts, commitment and success in the program, as well as their marketability to the Maine boat building industry.
